Cream & Sandwich Café

Bryan Cole will tell you that he built his company because it’s what he did Cole saw a cinderblock structure on Highway 17 that could be used as a restaurant site in 1994, long before Mount Pleasant was the fourth-largest municipality in South Carolina. He ignored all advice and began to transform a car repair shop into a successful restaurant. Becki Cole was born in West Ashley, where her father founded the first Ye Ole Fashion.

The popular chain now has seven links. Bryan Cole worked three years for his father-in law before opening the Mount Pleasant location. There are burgers and hot dogs, sandwiches, salads, and homemade soup. The ice cream Fashion Rats is available in 36 flavors, as well as a variety of sundaes. There are a few options, such as the Black & White with vanilla and chocolate icecream, hot fudge, marshmallow and the Pig’s Trough which is a huge double banana split.

Cole proudly boasts that Mount Pleasant’s Ye Ole Fashioned is a place people will be able to drop in for a hearty meal or dessert at a fair price.

How is Ye Ole Fashioned Ice Cream & Sandwich Cafe able to survive a sometimes shaky economy, and a long road improvement program that makes it difficult for customers to get there?
